Lactation Consultation

In-home and In-office consultations for concerns including milk supply, sore nipples, returning to work, oversupply, infant weight loss, slow weight gain, plugged ducts, breast infection, bottle refusal, introduction of solids, pumping, bottle feeding, tongue-tie and more.

Private & Group Classes

In-person group breastfeeding classes as well as private remote breastfeeding classes offered in the comfort of your own home. We also offer Tummy Time classes for new parents and babies and breastfeeding meet-ups groups.

Prenatal Assessments

Assessments are designed for expecting mothers who plan to breastfeed and/or pump. Assessments are also great for mothers who face specific challenges such as, but not limited to: A history of breast surgery, history of low milk supply, multiples, and inducing lactation.

*Important information for families seeking breastfeeding help from lactation consultants*

Many families are concerned about the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the swiftly changing recommendations and updates from local and national authorities. SOS Lactation is committed to providing the exceptional customer service you have come to expect, while simultaneously exceeding the recommended precautions to keep babies and families safe.

*Understand: In-home consultations are acceptable, provided the appropriate precautions are followed*.

Some of the preventative measures used by SOS Lactation include:

  • Thorough hand washing before, during, and after the consultation

  • A mask will be work upon request

  • Use of hand sanitizer during the visit

  • Thorough cleaning and disinfection of equipment (infant scale, laptop, etc.)

  • Use of gloves for oral assessments for each consultation

These measures are standard operating procedure at each consultation. Their implementation is standard practice at each consultation. 

SOS Lactation is committed to supporting and uplifting moms and new families during these difficult times. We are constantly monitoring the situation and will adjust as more updates become available.

An additional fee applies to locations outside of a 15 mile radius of the Houston Medical Center. 

Pets are fine to have present at the consultation provided they do not: Excessively bark, growl, jump, get on equipment or in the way during the consultation. If your pet has difficulty with the above mentioned please place them away during the consultation.

Mother and babies experience different breastfeeding challenges that require specific levels of care. If the feeding challenge is more complex or requires follow up consultation(s), you will be notified of that recommendation during the consultation.
